We welcome you and your daughter to our College.

Preston Girls' has a tradition of educating young women, dating back to 1928. Our motto, Excellence, Trust and Compassion, expresses the values we believe in. Success, while important, is not enough for a person to be complete. In addition, at Preston Girls we develop young women of honesty and integrity, who demonstrate sensitivity to others.

We understand the importance of educating each individual student. Our society requires young people who have a positive view of the future, who understand world events, who are capable of developing informed points of view, and of making a contribution to their world that will remain for the generations that follow them.

The College has a compulsory uniform for all students.

• The Summer Uniform is worn in Term 1 and Term 4
  • The 1st Monday of November all students must be in Summer Uniform.
• The Winter Uniform is worn during Terms 2 & 3
  • The 1st of June (or nearest Monday) - all students must be in Winter Uniform.

Year 12 students have an optional jacket each year.

New Uniforms can be purchased through one of the options below.

• Buxwear operates a new Uniform shop in Preston Girls every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11.00 am.
• Online ordering is now available, refer to the link below. You will need to specify whether  are collecting the uniforms from the school or the Thomastown office.
• At all other times new uniforms can be purchased at the Buxwear shop in Thomastown. The address is listed below.

Secondhand Uniforms

A small selection of second-hand uniform items are available. Please contact our Office for operating times of the second-hand uniform shop.

Families who experience difficulty with purchasing the compulsory uniform may be eligible for assistance. An example would be unemployment. In such a situation families should contact Preston Girls.

Booklists

The booklists for 2010 are being finalised and should be available soon. The booklist includes all of the Texts required along with stationery requirements. Booklists are distributed in November each year. Please note that to use the Parcel Collection System you will need to return your completed list to the school by the 9th December. Books will be available to collect from Landmark between the 12th of January and the 6th February 2009. Payments for the booklist and stationery are made directly to Landmark.

Secondhand Books

Incoming year 7 students are able to purchase secondhand books from Preston Girls, usually on information night or orientation day.

For other year levels Preston Girls' facilitates a secondhand book sale at the end of the year. At other times the school may have a small quantity of donated secondhand books for sale to students, however, this is a limited supply.
